Assalam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatu

I love weekends it just gets you in the mood well for a looong weekend. No school, no work except maybe some chores and then just you (me), the bed, indoors and my favorite room the kitchen. But not forgetting, being a Muslim in all acts. So being a chocoholic, it is a chocolate weekend treat. Not just one recipe but more than two, whether its cold or hot, they'll serve. So let’s kick off.


COOKIES AND CRÈME MILKSHAKE.

Total time: 5 minutes

Serves 2

 INGREDIENTS
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1 cup milk
4-5 Oreo cookies
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3-5 ice cubes

DIRECTIONS
Throw all the ingredients in a blender and mix it up.
For a thicker shake pour in less milk but if you prefer it thinner add in more milk.
And serve immediately, I mean why wouldn’t you?
TIP: With the foam have some crushed Oreos and sprinkle on top. Chocolate dust can do the trick too.

KICKED UP HOT CHOCOLATE.

Total time: 10 minutes
Serves 5

INGREDIENTS
3 cups milk
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup sugar

DIRECTIONS
Boil the milk.
Whisk the cocoa powder and vanilla extract in the milk.
Add sugar.
Then remove from heat.
Pour the hot chocolate in a cup and top with whipped cream, some grated chocolate, chocolate curls, strawberries, marshmallows or chocolate syrup your way.
TIP: You can wet the rims then dip in the powder, kinda looks cool.
And there is treat number two!





WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE.

Total time: 15 minutes

Serves 5

INGREDIENTS
3 cups light cream
2/3 cups chopped white chocolate
¼ cup almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup sugar

DIRECTIONS
In a saucepan combine ¼ cup of light cream, chopped chocolate and stir till melted.
Add the remaining light cream. Cook and stir until heated through.
Remove from heat and stir in the extracts (vanilla and almond).
Top with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips.
Voila! Number three!




CHOCOLATE FONDUE.

Total time: 10 minutes

Serves 10-12

INGREDIENTS
1-2 cups chopped chocolate (bittersweet or semisweet)
½- ¾ cup milk or heavy cream
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
Combine the chocolate and milk or heavy cream and melt gently in a barely simmering water or microwave on medium. If you over do, it will burn.
Stir till smooth.
And it is done, pour in a fondue pot, mug or bowl.
Get your fondue dippables, chunks of pineapple, fan wafers, biscuits, cookies, marshmallows, cherries or berries, grapefruit, bananas, apples, cubes of cake etc.
TIP: It’s not necessary to use fondue forks or bamboo skewers, a fork will do.
