Assalam alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatu
This is new yes and fun too. Baking. I was out with my aunt today and yes I love good food but homemade meals, if it’s a restaurant lets go for some junk food. Anyway I suddenly got an appetite for cake and I do like it chilled a bit with milk as my drink to cut the sugar and I remembered the day I ordered a brownie, it was my last. So the cake, and it has to be chocolate it’s like a woman’s best friend after diamonds and all. ‘Haha Chocoholic’. I walked into a cake shop and just before I had my way to order, my aunt pulled me away, I was a bit stunned and demanded an explanation for the behavior, of course politely and so we got into to the car without a word and drove home. I really was going to miss that cake. I had imagined it in my mouth melting off.
As we got home she, my aunt Fahma pushed me to the kitchen where she know explained we were to bake a cake, and by we, she meant me. It’s kind of exciting but I had no idea where to start, except I knew we needed flour and a lot of chocolate. But long story short, I had an awesome moment in the kitchen with my cake which I will not post since well it is eatable but only when you close your eyes first.
Here is the recipe though. My first DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE.
Total time: 40 minutes
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Serves 5-10
How to serve: Warm or Chilled

INGREDIENTS
2 cups sugar
1 ¾ cups flour
¾ cup baking cocoa (dark cocoa preferably)
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup cream butter
 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
¾ to 1 cup boiling water

FROSTING
1 cup powdered sugar
¾ cup cocoa powder
6 tablespoon unsalted butter
 5-6 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
Heat the oven to 350F
Grease the round baking pans (should be 9 inches)
In a medium bowl, pour the boiling water over cocoa, and whisk until smooth. Let the mixture cool. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in one egg at a time, then stir in vanilla. Add the flour mixture alternately with the cocoa mixture.

FROSTING
In a bowl, whip butter until fluffy.
In another bowl, whisk to combine cocoa and powder sugar.
Add the cocoa, sugar mix alternately with milk. Do not add so much milk or else it will be too thin. If too thick, add more milk one teaspoon at a time. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Blend or whisk until there aren’t any clumps. And now it’s ready to use on the cake.

Pour into the 9 inch prepared pans. (Because of tendency to overflow)
Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Allow to cool then remove from pan.

Use the frost to cover the entire cake. Do a neat job.
Serve immediately or chill in the fridge.

TIP: You can grate some chocolate and sprinkle on the cake. Or add some chocolate chips, strawberries, nuts. That will be one sweeeeeet cake. A chocolate injection.
Enjoy!!
