Bismillahi rahmani rahim
Assalam alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatu
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions, and all those who follow the path of righteousness until the last day.
The best thing to do to obtain peace of heart and mind, happiness and tranquility is by the remembrance of Allah. Allah says: " Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. " [Ra'd 13:28]
On the contrary, if one does not remember Allah, then there will be no peace, tranquility or happiness of the heart as Allah says: "But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'an nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship. " [Ta-Ha 20:124]
We advise you dear brother or sister, to remember Allah as much as possible, with your tongue, heart and limbs. When we utter praise to the Almighty and thank Him for his countless bounties, our hearts are filled with inner peace and reflection.
Remember Allah sincerely with the tongue by making Tasbeeh, seeking forgiveness always, reading Qur'an frequently and saying the Adhkar taught by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in all circumstances.
Remember Allah with certainty from the heart by confessing and acknowledging the blessings of Allah on you and be happy with what Allah predestined for you, and ponder about the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Remember Him with the limbs by performing good deeds, like prayers with their Sunnah, Hajj, and other physical actions. Participate in voluntary work and give charity. Help the needy.
We also advise you to keep away from sins and acts of disobedience, as these have a bad effect on the tranquility and peace of heart, mind and soul. Also keep away from doubtful circumstances and actions.
You have to continue making dua and not to despair if you do not notice that your supplication is answered, be patient and trust Allah in all matters. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: " The supplication of one of you is answered as long as he does not say 'I supplicated but my supplication was not answered.' " [Reported by Al-Bukhari, Muslim and others.]
In another narration [reported by Al-Tirmidhi and Muslim] the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The supplication of a person is answered as long as he does not supplicate for a sin, or for cutting relations with kinship, and as long as he does not hasten for the answer. They said: "O Prophet of Allah, what is meant by hasten? He replied: "It is to say I said a supplication and it was not answered, and he becomes despaired and gives up supplicating ."
So, dear sister and brother, you have to supplicate, for supplication is in itself Ibadah. You have to think good of Allah that He will answer your call and bless you.
In order to strengthen your Iman and get peace of heart, one should also seek good company that will guide him to righteousness, and attend circles of knowledge, be patient with people and do not take attitudes. Stay humble and hate pride and arrogance. Have a cheerful face as it sends positivity and it's a form of charity too 😄
When we remember Allah, we also realize that we are constantly in His presence, and thus we are liberated from the self-destructive habits that consume us.
So often in life we are wronged by others, and the temptation to respond in a demeaning and un-Islamic manner is very strong. Fortunately, we can avoid wrong responses in the case of mistreatment by responding with good and being patience. Rely on Allah and knowing that He is the All-Knowing.
When we take part in wrong responses, we fall victim to disobediences that lead the soul away from righteousness, and into the pits of retaliation and cruelty. “Surely in Allah’s remembrance do the hearts find peace.”
Those who seek Allah and remember Him will find contentment and joy in their lives with the knowledge that they are under the protection of Allah. Remember no harm or good can come to you without the permission of Allah.
How happy and blessed are those who seek refuge in their Lord, the Most Beneficent and Most Merciful Allah. Finally, we ask Allah to grant you peace of heart and to relieve you from any hardship and distress. Ameen.
Allah knows best.
